Hand-painted Pattachitra Painting on Patta (a mix of cloth and canvas) with the theme of Dashavatara.

This Pattachitra painting depicts the popular theme of Dashavatara, the ten incarnations of Lord Vishnu. The theme of Dashavatara  holds a significant place in the culture and literature of Odisha. The famous work of Geeta Govinda, by the great saint poet Jayadev, starts with Dashavatara stotra. This great Sanskrit poetry, composed in the 12th century, describes the ten incarnations of Lord Vishnu as Matsya (fish), Kurma (tortoise), Varaha (boar), Narasimha (man-lion), Vamana (dwarf), Parashurama, Rama, Haladhara (Balaram), Buddha, and the future Kalki of Kali yug.

Since it is hand painted using natural colours and brush , there could be some inaccuracies, lack of symmetry and proportion, colour mismatch or irregularities, and other aspects of human limitations.
