Pattachitra is one of the distinct form of traditional hand-painting in Odisha ,which have been continuously in existence for almost 800 years. The themes and motifs of Pattachitra center around Lord Jagannath and the Vaishnava cult, mainly taken from the epics like Ramayana and Mahabharata. Sometimes the themes are also based on folklores and regional festivals. In modern times this amazing art of Pattachitra has been kept alive by the traditional Painter-community known as "Chitrakaras” who live in and around Raghurajpur village of Puri district in Odisha.

Krishna with Gopis is one of the most popular themes of Odisha as well as across India. The Gopi's of Brindavan were the devout admirers of Krishna. While Krishna played mischief on them, he also enchanted them with his flute. The theme of this Persian green matka silk saree is Krishna with gopis roaming in a boat on river Yamuna and Krishna mesmerizing them with his mystical flute.

Wearing this saree is equivalent to wearing a piece of art on you. An extremely elegant piece suitable for women of all age.
